MY Origin Story

I was born a rebel out of the womb, and have been considered an underdog and misfit all my life. My dad left me when I was just a baby, forcing my mom to raise me and my older sister on her own.

I fit the mold of a stereotypical African-American boy, raised in a single-parent home, up against the odds. I didn’t let any of that keep me down or stop me from striving for greatness. At the age of eighteen, I seized an opportunity to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, where I discovered my talent in boxing, earning 3X National Championships and 2 Most Valuable Boxer awards as a light-heavyweight at 175lbs. Post-graduation, my path led me to the Marines, serving five years with deployments to Afghanistan, Japan, and the Philippines — experiences that shaped my resilience and perspective.

My entrepreneurial journey began in Newark, NJ with the founding of IRONBOUND Boxing. This nonprofit venture goes beyond boxing training; it’s a lifeline of entrepreneurship education and employment opportunities for Newark’s youth. Along with my partner Keith Colon, we run the renowned IRONBOUND Boxing Academy, providing a haven of growth and discipline for our community’s youth.

Expanding my reach, I launched IRONBOUND Media, a media company that builds authority for underdogs and misfits, through podcasting, newsletters, and other owned-media assets. My transformation through business coaching inspired me to advocate for its power and impact. In April 2023, I embraced a new venture with my coach, Bill Watkins, and colleagues Phil Sanders and Jeff Evenson, launching Flawless Acceleration. This journey is not just about business; it's about fostering excellence in every life aspect, from professional pursuits to personal growth. I’m committed to the philosophy of 'Flawless Acceleration': blending business acceleration, a strong mind-body connection, and a champion's mindset.
